Wispr Flow setup ๐๏ธ
From @techyai_cj. This is the tool I use instead of typing. It sits on top of every app: you hold a key, talk, and it types wherever your cursor already is. It also strips out your ums and adds punctuation on its own. Nobody is paying me to say any of this.
Windows
1. Go to wisprflow.ai and download it.
2. Install it and sign in.
3. Open Settings, then Shortcuts, and set your hotkey. Pick something you can hold with your left hand while your right hand stays on the mouse.
4. Hold that key, talk, let go. That is the whole thing.
It works in every app, not just one. Email, Slack, Claude, a Google Doc, a text box on a website. Anywhere you can type, you can talk.
iPhone
1. Get Wispr Flow from the App Store.
2. Open Settings, then General, then Keyboard, then Keyboards.
3. Tap Add New Keyboard and pick Wispr Flow.
4. Tap it again in the list, turn on Allow Full Access, then hit Allow.
5. In any text field, hold the globe icon, pick Wispr Flow, tap the mic and talk.
On iPhone 15 Pro or newer you can map it to the Action Button instead, so it is one squeeze from anywhere.
The settings that actually matter
Talk normally. Do not over enunciate. The cleanup is built for how people actually talk, so fumbling is fine.
Do not stop to fix yourself. Say "actually make that 3pm" and keep going. It handles the correction without you going back.
Use it on your longest stuff first. Long emails, long prompts. That is where you feel the difference on day one.
Set up the phone keyboard. Most people install it on desktop and never do this, and the phone is where it actually changes your day.
What it costs
Free is 2,000 words a week on your computer and 1,000 a week on your phone. That is roughly fifteen minutes of talking, which is enough to know if it is for you. Unlimited is $15 a month, or $12 if you pay yearly. There is no lifetime option.
I post AI workflows every single day.
